Welcome to Elements! This article aims to help you get started with our platform.
1. Getting Started video
When you first log in to Elements you'll be greeted with our Getting Started video. We recommend taking a few minutes to watch it. It will help orient you to the platform as well as show you how to add your first client, add assets and debts, and more.
If you want to watch it later, you can access it by clicking the question mark on the bottom left side of your screen.
2. Experience Client Onboarding yourself
Elements has a streamlined onboarding experience for clients and prospects. This onboarding questionnaire plays an important role in introducing your clients and prospects to Elements, and we recommend you try it out yourself.
You will be prompted to complete client onboarding each time you log in until you click Get Started. On average this questionnaire takes 10 minutes to complete.
It's important to note that you do NOT need to create a profile for yourself as we already created one for you. When you click the "getting started" button to onboard yourself, it will ask you to log in... use the same credentials there that you used when you logged into the web platform.
You'll notice your profile under the onboarding client list is marked with a star icon. If you have multiple advisors under the same firm, you will not be able to see each other's data that's entered on your starred profile.
3. Set up your advisor profile
Let's take a few minutes to set up your firm profile by clicking the gear icon in the top left of your screen.
You'll be brought to the screen pictured below where you can update your advisor account information as well as add an email signature and 2-step verification.
If you click on firm settings, you'll be able to add your firm branding to Elements as well as custom disclosures.
When updating firm branding, you can add your firm's logo and primary color (using a HEX code). This branding will be seen in the following areas:
- Client onboarding questionnaire
- Invite links
- Reports like the One Page Plan, Personal Financial Statement, and more.
Note: Logos must be under 6MB. Supported file types are jpeg, png, or svg.
4. Connect your managed accounts
You can connect your managed accounts using our Morningstar ByAllAccounts integration.
To do this click the integrations (puzzle icon) tab and select Morningstar ByAllAccounts.
You will then be able to request access and begin the process.

Note: the exact process to connect your managed accounts will vary depending on your custodian(s).
